A very correct, period style, Order of the Thistle Collar in cast bronze. The collar is gilded in 24k gold and enameled.
The piece is over 40 inches long so that it will drape correctly from the outside of the shoulders. This collar is based on the collar worn by James V in the portrait at lower left. Note that the style of the renaissance Thistle varied quite a bit from the modern Thistle collar.
